Pole came with ‚my best lap by long way‘ – Norris

Lando Norris secured his first Formula 1 pole position at the Russian Grand Prix, with the McLaren driver describing his lap as his „best lap by long way“.

Speaking after the qualifying session, Norris said, „It was definitely my best lap by a long way. I haven’t had a perfect lap in Formula 1 yet, because there’s always minor things you can improve on.“

Despite acknowledging that there were still areas for improvement, Norris expressed his satisfaction with his performance, adding, „I’m very happy with the lap I did.“
